I replaced battery and home button now it wont turn on

Hi I was careful in replacing the battery first. I went to turn it on and it was working although the battery life was in the red necause it was a new battery. So I went on to replacing the home button and well now the phone wont turn on at all. I was careful to check all the connections to make sure they were snapped in properly and still no battery life in the phone. So I thought well I will plug it in to see if the battery is to dead and I am waiting for any sign of life, still no sign...
